CSF 2021 Success

2021 was always going to bring challenges. COVID-19 meant that the festival had to move online this year, bringing the risk of technical difficulties and screen fatigue, which has plagued all of us in the last year.

However, despite all the potential pitfalls, we are proud to say that the 2021 Cardiff Science Festival was a huge success! We hosted 90 events, our most ever, allowing us to reach over 3,800 people. Running events online meant that we could reach people across the world, from over 20 countries, showcasing Wales to the world. However, we never lost our local focus, as the majority of our audience still came from South Wales.

We were proud to bring a diverse and exciting range of events to the festival, providing something for everyone. Whether you wanted to learn about the science of Killing Eve, the science of Arctic exploration, or maths problems with a million dollar prize, hopefully there was something to keep everyone entertained during lockdown.

The success of the festival has already made us look to next year and we’re excited to say that the festival will return from the 19th-22nd of February, 2022. We listened to your feedback from this year’s festival and we’re going to bring a programme of physical and digital events, to allow everyone to attend, no matter where you live. If you want to keep updated about the festival, you can signup to our newsletter and keep an eye on our social media. We look forward to seeing you next year!
