We strive to make Cardiff Science Festival accessible for everyone.

Sight Life Cardiff

In 2019, the festival partnered with Sight Life (previously Cardiff Institute for the Blind) to run a special event to engage with people in South Wales with sight loss. We created an event around teaching astronomy, normally a very visual subject, to people with visual impairments. Using tactile and audio resources, participants could feel and hear what the Universe looked like!

Cardiff Deaf Centre

In 2020, Cardiff Science Festival partnered with Astro Cymru and Cardiff Deaf Centre to put on an incredible event, where participant could explore space in a 3D show! Supported by a British Sign Language Interpreter, members of the public with and without hearing loss were able to learn more about the Universe in this family friendly event.
