Animal ARKS of the 21st Century

February 18 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Free

18th Feb – 9:00-17:00

Many of Earth’s animals are facing extinction. Find out what Frozen Ark and other “ARKS” around the world are doing about it.

Our planet is experiencing an unprecedented loss of wildlife. For the first time in geological history, a single species (humans) is responsible for a mass extinction event. However, there is still a lot we can do to prevent further loss. Join researchers from Cardiff University to find out more about the biodiversity crisis and how the frozen “ARKS” of the 21st Century are working together to help safeguard the DNA, tissues and cells of endangered animals and other wildlife, contributing to their conservation. Throughout the day, our team will also be performing DNA extractions using everyday household products and visitors will be encouraged to assist us with the steps.

Our activities are family friendly and suitable for all ages. Visit us on the 18th of February from 9am-5pm in the Capitol Shopping Centre. Free entry
